The Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka together with the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Bangladesh in Austria organized the “Embassy Cup” Cricket Tournament for the 3rd consecutive year at the De La Salle Sportzentrum in Vienna, Austria.
Eight Embassies based in Vienna namely, Bangladesh, India, Ireland, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the United Kingdom placed their teams for the tournament. The Austrian Cricket Association supported in officiating the matches.
Following a victory against the Embassy of India in the final match, the Embassy of Bangladesh won its second consecutive “Embassy Cup” title.
The tournament also featured friendly cricket matches for Ambassadors and Ladies which enthralled the guests.
The ground was elegantly decorated with tourism promotional banners, flags and backdrops and Sri Lanka was able to showcase and brand itself as a leading tourist destination among the gathering.
World’s finest “Ceylon tea” along with traditional Sri Lankan food was savoured by guests at the venue.
