Extension of Service to Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Tyrol /Austria
Ambassador and Permanent Representative Dayani Mendis presented the Extension of
Service to Mr. Christian Steppan, Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Tyrol/ Austria on 12
August 2026.
During the meeting, the Ambassador and the Honorary Consul discussed avenues to
further strengthen bilateral relations, promote cultural exchange, and deepen economic
cooperation between Sri Lanka and Tyrol/Austria.
The engagement focused on fostering professional collaboration between Tyrol and Sri
Lanka in the hospitality and tourism sectors. The Honorary Consul outlined his
proposals to enhance Sri Lanka’s visibility in Tyrol and to further trade and business to
business contacts.
